2011 Overview of Activities

Jones Lang LaSalle 2011 JLL Academy

Dates:February 9-11
Location:JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort
Phoenix, Arizona
Overview:This leading commercial real estate firm hosts 1,200 top professionals each year. TEP sponsored the event with nine TEP members attending to market the state. In addition to a booth at the event, TEP had a presence at the Thursday evening Welcome Reception and Dinner at the JW Marriott. For this event, TEP hired an Elvis Presley look-a-like for reception attendees to take photos with while at the reception. We printed the photos on site and sent guests home with a nice photo takeaway in a branded Tennessee paper frame.


CoreNet Global Summit Chicago Midwest

Location:Chicago, Illinois
Overview:TEP utilized guerilla marketing at this premier (and highly competitive) corporate real estate conference of more than 2,000 executives. The result was numerous solid prospects identified for business relocation to Tennessee.TEP hosted a coffee/beverage area with our backdrop in the high-traffic area of the CoreNet Global Chicago convention just outside registration and the general session rooms. This was a high-traffic area at the show with the Business Center, R&R Lounge, Social Networking Point, My CoreNet Global, Dine Out Concierge. The coffee/beverage station provided attendees with specialty coffees wrapped in a Tennessee branded coffee sleeve.


SEDC 2011 Meet the Consultants

Location:Atlanta, Georgia
Overview:Atlanta is a hot-bed for site location consultants important to our state. We connected with some of those consultants through a songwriter event that highlighted not only our people, but also our unique assets.TEP and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development hosted this event on the rooftop of the Atlanta hotspot French American Brasserie. Popular songwriter Radney Foster performed for Atlanta-area site location consultants and speakers from the Southern Economic Development Council’s Meet the Consultants Conference.

Location:Traverse City, Michigan
Overview:The Center for Automotive Research, a leading thought-group on the automotive industry, hosts a meeting of top automotive executives in the world each August in Traverse City, Michigan. This seminar will attract very high level, automotive executives.



IAMC

Overview:The International Asset Management Council is a premier organization that represents leading corporations interested in business relocation. TEP will be at the conference and will host a small event to continue to foster relationships within this important group.



SIOR Regional

Dates:September 15-18
Location:Charleston, SC
Overview:TEP will be a Gold Level supporter of The Society of Industrial and Office Real Estate’s second annual regional conference this fall. The conference will bring leading corporate real estate professionals that are specifically interested in the Southeast region.



Solar Power International

Dates:October 17-20
Location:Dallas, Texas
Overview:With the increased opportunity the state has to attract solar suppliers, TEP will be hosting at booth at the Fall Solar Power International annual summit in Dallas in October. The booth will act as the cornerstone of our activities around that conference, and we’ll look for additional opportunities for speaking and individual one-on-one meetings with key industry targets. The event boasts more than 17,000 participants and 900 exhibitors, and will be held at the Dallas Convention Center. While we are in Dallas, we’ll also host an event with leading regional site location consultants that are important to Tennessee’s expansion recruitment efforts.
