RETECH 2009: Renewable Energy Technology Conference and Exhibition
Las Vegas Convention Center
February 25 – 27, 2009

image1 The American Council on Renewable Energy hosted this 5,000-person conference in Las Vegas this year and TEP was present with a booth and knowledge of a growing industry for our state’s manufacturing sector.

RETECH is a one-stop educational program for professionals who want to stay current on the dynamic renewable energy industry, including executives, managers and professionals in science, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, sales, law, consulting, architecture, finance, investment, lending, insurance, associations, higher education, and government.

During the conference TEP hosted a 10 x 10 booth and became the talk of the trade show following the Wacker Chemie announcement back in Cleveland, Tennessee. TEP members were able to educate show-goers one-on-one about why this leading company in the renewable energy field selected Tennessee for its manufacturing facility.

Dallas Consultant Event

image1TEP and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development hosted a dinner and songwriter night at Dallas’ Crescent Club at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel. In attendance were 25 Dallas-area site location consultants along with speakers from the nearby Southern Economic Development Council’s Meet the Consultants Conference.

In this intimate setting, Country Music Association award-winning songwriters Rivers Rutherford and Bob Dipiero performed for more than an hour to a captivated crowd.

Atlanta Key Market Visit/Bio Show
May 18 – 21, 2009

image1Atlanta is a hotbed for consultants, international business leaders, strategic conferencing and business prospecting. This year, TEP brought all those opportunities together over three days during the annual Bio International Convention held at the Georgia World Congress Center. More than 20,000 life science professionals gathered for the convention, and TEP, in coordination with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the Tennessee Biotechnology Association and the Tennessee Technology Development Council, sponsored a Jack Daniels reception on the trade show floor.

While in Atlanta, TEP members also called on more than 10 top consulting firms with a catered breakfast or lunch in their offices. The meetings allowed TEP members to introduce themselves and their communities and to learn what is important in today’s business environment.
